Athens, Greece

The Acropolis and Botanical Garden

The fifth day was a big adventure for me and for Sergei. We decided to climb to the Acropolis which as you all know is located at the top of the hill. And you you need to climb your way up there. The weather was finally cooling down and the clouds appeared, letting the sun hide and stop burning us for a moment and therefore we thought this day is the best day for this. So we went up there, taking photos like literally everywhere. You can see all them below. I was wearing a purple long wavy dress for the pictures, but it wasn't super super comfy for me. Although it was worth it as I enhanced the atmosphere of the ancient Greek city located up there full of magnificent historical moments and cultural and mythological as well. It was all there, you just need to feel it. And of course, the place was like the most crowded place so far in our trip, there was lots of lots of people, so you can imagine how hard it was to get a perfect shot.
Oh, and by the way for the entrance we got tickets for about 20euro (no guide included), I  must tell you to order them online is much better as we did, cause that way you can skip the line. Which was huuuge, like one or two hour of waiting I suppose. So be smart, get them online super easy and just go right in. If you want to get an excursion with a guide and everything, the ticket will be 40 euro and you will also be asked to skip the line and join the excursion groups. We, however, prefer exploring on our own.
The Acropolis experience will always stay in my mind, it was magnificent up there, I loved it. Time to move on now. We went to Syntagma straight after that to visit the botanical garden. Before doing that we spotted a nice Greek place to dine , basically on the side of the street so it was quite busy corner. And again our ordered portions appeared to be portions for two, it was huge in size. I got the chicken caesar salad and Sergei the pork Souvlaki. Oh and ice latte there is just great, I got mine with almond milk. For everything we paid around 20-25euro, which I think is a reasonable price, considering such portions. After that we were free to go to the botanical garden, which was a bit of disappointment. The entrance is nice and pretty with all those palms planted, but inside is just a regular park:D But anyway, it was great for a stroll after heavy food that we just ate.
Overall, it was an amazing day, full of beautiful memories and exploration and thank you thank you Athens again for this beauty that makes our day just better and better everyday. I am such person, all I appreciate is the surrounding beauty  and good coffee and Athens has it all. <3 p="">
